Featured Presentation: Making Soil Health a Food Systems Priority
Dr. Ratan Lal, The Ohio State University
2020 World Food Prize Winner
Soil plays a critical role for people and organizations at all points in the food system. Healthy soil provides the essential nutrients, biology, water, oxygen, and root support that food-producing plants need to thrive, create higher yields, and contribute to greater food security. Soil plays a key role in sequestering carbon and addressing climate change. Soil health is a determining factor in the nutritional levels of our food. And soil health and productivity deeply influence the economic viability and resiliency of our food system.
2020 World Food Prize Winner and renowned soil scientist, Dr. Rattan Lal, to our August 18 event to share his thoughts on how we can work to make soil health a food systems priority. No matter your role in the food system, his words will leave you both inspired and more knowledgeable about the powerful role of soil.
